I saw Roger at the Leadmill in Sheffield in 1999. It was a great night for me because it was the first time I had seen Roger live, and I had a real good spot very close to the stage. Treana was a great support act, and it was on the strength of that slot that I bought her solo album, which I still play a great deal - it's an excellent little album.
Roger was great, opening with "We Will Rock You" which featured Roger on a second set of drums before he came to the front to sing. I rememer Treana blowing my mind with the high falsetto note she hit on 'Under Pressure', and I was delighted to hear Roger sing 'I Want To Break Free' after nearly wearing out my 'Happiness' single that had the live version on the B-side. It was a great concert, the sound was excellent, the show passed very quickly and I had a terrific time!

Well I've heard it now thanks to myspace, but I'm not overly keen. I might have preferred it more if I'd heard the version with Roger's vocal, because I didn't like Felix's voice. There's Taylor trademarks all over the music, which is probably why I'm not keen on someone else's vocal!

I'd love to hear it, but QOL likes to shaft us Mac users by not giving us anything we can actually hear, so i'll have to guess what it's like. JG

Love "It's An Illusion" - a great melody from Roger and a great Status Quo style chorus riff from Rick Parfitt. Two of my favourite rock stars!
I once interviewed Rick and met him backstage at a Quo show - haven't been that lucky with Roger yet!

Treana is brilliant, and her solo album, "Naked", that she recorded is well worth tracking down. That's where most of her support set came from when she played with Roger. It's a brilliant but tragically unheard little album.

"Fun In Space" is special to me because it was the first one I got of all Roger's solo projects. However, I rate "Happiness" as the best actual album. I think Roger had more confidence in himself as a musician and singer by this point, reflected in the fact he chose some very difficult Queen numbers to try his hand at live.
All four are superb albums though - there's not a weak track on any of them.

Freddie sang "Heaven For Everyone" on the UK version of the CD, Brian played the solo on "Love Lies Bleeding" and John contributed some bass, although I'm not sure whether his bass parts to some songs were kept for the album, or simply used on the backing tracks Roger utilised when auditioning for the Cross.
