I think I'm gonna have to vote for Fun In Space, that album was the first one I got and has always really been my favourite.

I have always thought Happiness was his best work. Seems to have more of a personal touch to it. Maybe because it's the first work he did after Freddie's death. Quite a sad feel to the album...

I have to stick to "Strange frontier" because I really love 1)the rhythm, 2)the vocals and 3)most of the lyrics! I'm wearing it out these last weeks (along with "Blue rock"). But I wish I could give 2 votes because I love "Electric fire" too (though it quite shocked me at first...it was my first contact with Roger's solo work, and I didn't expect what I heard...). I wasn't very keen on "Fun in space" at first, but now "Happiness?" is my least fave - a little too unvaried IMHO .

"Fun In Space" is special to me because it was the first one I got of all Roger's solo projects. However, I rate "Happiness" as the best actual album. I think Roger had more confidence in himself as a musician and singer by this point, reflected in the fact he chose some very difficult Queen numbers to try his hand at live.
All four are superb albums though - there's not a weak track on any of them.

Electric Fire In my opinion he just got better with every album that he put out

I likr Happiness the best. Its a softer side to Roger except Dear Mr Murdock. He really knows how to tell off the press like he did when he wrote to the rolling stone mag. I also like Strange Frontier for the beat and the 80's feel but all the albums have good songs

Love them all, but to pick one... that would be Happiness.

Strange Frontier - close call with Electric Fire though.

I just listened to Electric Fire today and found the song "Surender" with Roger and Treana Morris. They sounded so good together. I also have a concert tape called Treana is more fun where they sing Under Pressure together. Electric Fire has some good songs.

Treana is brilliant, and her solo album, "Naked", that she recorded is well worth tracking down. That's where most of her support set came from when she played with Roger. It's a brilliant but tragically unheard little album.

Favorite tracks on albums: Fun in Space (8/10): Lets get Crazy. Great kind of 'Rock-a-billy' rhythm, nifty little drum solo near the end & wicked 'Roger at his best' raspy vocals in the outtro. I remember seeing The Cross perform this song & Roger & Josh did a blistering drum duet between them (Roger had his black Yamaha kit with him - same one as Wembley '86 ). Brilliant! Strange Frontier:(8/10): Man on Fire/Its an Illusion. Did you know that Freddie co-wrote 'Killing Time' with Roger, & John played bass on 'Its an Illusion' . Also 'Radio Ga-Ga' was going to be put on the album, but there wasn't room!!!! Shove It:(7/10): Rough Justice. Mad, Bad & Dangerous to Know:(8/10) Breakdown/Penetration Guru. Blue Rock:(9/10): Dirty Mind/Millionaire. Happiness?:(7/10): Old Friends. Electric Fire:(8/10): No More Fun.

Love "It's An Illusion" - a great melody from Roger and a great Status Quo style chorus riff from Rick Parfitt. Two of my favourite rock stars!
I once interviewed Rick and met him backstage at a Quo show - haven't been that lucky with Roger yet!

Also 'Radio Ga-Ga' was going to be put on the album, but there wasn't room!!!! I LOVE "It's an illusion" - "...it's only Rock'n'roll but we like it..." . Also "Man on fire", "Strange frontier" and "Racing in the streets" (more Springsteen than Springsteen himself! but so Rogerish...The original version is soooo much slower - couldn't believe it the first time I heard it!). I do love that album - makes me jump! Didn't know that "Radio ga ga" missed it for an inch! but you can tell the general sound is the same, especially on "Abandonfire" ;D.
