I have Meltdown - somebody burned it from tape to DVD, so I ripped it into my Itunes and have it there on mpeg and on CD. A good first show, pity it's edited down to a mere 25 minutes.

That's a good buy, and keep the obi strip. Add's to the value!

If so, what is it you are the proud owner of? I have an original copy of Blue Rock on CD, not the bootleg version, and I have MBADTK and Shove It on vinyl. I was offered the "Life Changes" CD for an absurd amount, and told them to forget it. I have the song "Heartland", so I'm not paying hundreds of pounds for it again! JG

I actually love every single Cross song, but my absolute favourites would be "Put It All Down To Love", "Shove It", "Love On A Tightrope" and "Top Of The World Ma".

Blue Rock came out in Germany and Japan, but nowhere else. A January 1992 release was scheduled for Blue Rock here in the UK, but after Freddie died, it was dropped because Roger obviously had other things to concentrate on. It was just bad timing really. "New Dark Ages" was released first in the groups biggest market, Germany, and did quite well, with a few TV appearences to help it along. Then the "Life Changes" single came out in Holland, and was withdrawn again. The album came out in Japan and Germany in September 1991, and then of course shortly after Freddie passed away. The plug was pulled on the 1992 UK release, and that was that. Roger played the Marquee gigs, and then Gosport in 1993, then went solo.
I paid a lot of money for my copy, but I think it was worth it. It's grown in value over the few years I've owned it (I used to have a bootleg version, which ironically I still play so as not to dirty the original!) and nowhere on the internet have I seen anybody selling it for less than I paid. Probably because the only people who have it nowadays are collectors, who know how rare it is.

I think all three albums are excellent, but each i a different way. Shove It is more like a Roger solo album, and then by stark contrast he wrote very little toward MBADTK, which is probably why is sounded rockier. Blue Rock is a superb CD though. Truly awesome.

Eil.com is a collctors web site. I have an account there, and they don't spam me. Every week they simply email me a list of all the stuff they have by artists I've bought from them. So I tend to get a weekly email of everything they have from Queen, Roger and The Cross - which of course includes Brian and Freddies work too. The prices are high because that's what they are roughly valued around. You can only score a bargain on these rare items if you buy them from a shop owner who doesn't what it is he's selling. For example, I bought a rare album on vinyl from a store near me for £3 because the owner had no clue who the artist was. Eil.com had it in at £25, because it's very rare. I knew it was rare, Eil's price was a fair one, but I was smart enough to know that I could probably find it cheaper. Basically if you want something rare and can't find it, go to a collector's store like Eil.com. It will cost you, but you'll get what you want. A good site for rare stuff is www.musicstack.com. It's an online market with shops all over the world taking part. Key in what you want, and they list you all the stores that have one, where they are, how much and what condition it's in. And yes, at my last look, two stores had Blue Rock, but it would cost you between £50-£70! JG
