Did anyone see The Cross Live? Tell about the gigs and how Roger and the group were. They didn't come to the US I'm sorry to say.

Saw them first at The Mayfair Suite in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on Sunday 28th Feb 1988. Saw them all getting off the tour bus, saw Gerry Stickles and said Hi. Right at the front of Roger, a great set list and brilliant bootleg recording - in which I'm heard on at least twice [beginning of 'Love On A Tightrope', some prat sings 'Radio Ga Ga'...yeah, that's me.]
Last saw them together with Brian May at the Queen fan club Christmas party at The Astoria, London on 7th December 1990 in a slightly drunken haze... [it was a party]. Fantastic time, really talented band.

I was going to try to get tickets when they played The Marquee back in about 1992. Extreme were playing the same 2 nights at Wembley and my mate was getting tickets, so I held off until he'd got them, by which time the Cross tickets had sold out
The night after seeing Extreme I went down to The Marquee in the hope of picking up a ticket but a tout told me only one ticket had changed hands all evening and that had gone for £150!
To make matters worse, I later found out that Brian guested with each band - The Cross on the night I was at Extreme and Extreme the night I was sat in a pub off the Charing Cross Road on my own!

Now that's what I call bad luck! I got hold of some really bad bootlegs (Fan Club party included), so it's d**n hard to judge how they played/performed .

I've been really lucky with my Cross and Roger bootlegs. I've got very good quality shows from each tour, and I have the Cross Christmas Cracker with Brian May and Tim Staffel guesting. The only crap bootleg I got was the Cross's last ever show, Gosport 1993. I have it on tape and it's awful quality, which is a shame because it suggests it was a great farewell! If anybody has a good quality version of this gig, please get in touch and we might be able to sort out a trade!

I got the Town and Country Club 88, Christmas Cracker 92 and Live At The Astoria 90 from record fairs, and I got a soundboard Blue Rock show from Dusseldorf via a trade. The other Shove It ones I got via downloads from Queen fans via Queenzone.

Booties aren't that hard to come by these days - esp via downloads etc. Record fairs/ contacts were the main outlet for such things, but these days the internet is the thing to get them on - so i'm told. I had to do it the old fashioned way.

You can actually buy them on the net, but that is actually illegal to sell them, so do so at your own risk. Much better to do a trade if you have a sizable collection, of join a fan site where they often share live recordings.

Seen them at the Bristol Studios in March 1988. The support was the Ya Ya band I think & from memory, they were Scottish & had the appearance of Europe (with all the hair and that...). The gig was superb from beginning to end. I remember that I couldn't believe my eyes when Roger walked on with his guitar around his neck, wearing a leather jacket, his trade mark Raybands & jeans, & just looking as cool as....and when he sung IILWMC, I nearly had a heart attack (a shear one that is ) Also seen them at the Marquee, at The Christmas Cracker. Roger Daltery was brilliant, swinging his mic around in traditional style!! Got to say it, I didn't enjoy Tim Staffell slot at all, sorry!

I can second that - I have a bootleg of the second night of the Crhistmas Cracker shows, and I took the Tim Staffel songs out. Dreadful, just dreadful!
