As far as I know, Roger never explained the reason why the band was called "The Cross" - just stated there was no religious meaning about the name (no wonder, knowing Roger ). Now, what could The Cross really mean? Maybe the name came out from the way the band was assembled - so that 5 people with different backgrounds (though one of them had worked with Rog before) found themselves crossing their paths all of a sudden?

I often wondered why they were called The Cross, but it never occured to me that it could be the crossing of their paths. Good thinking! I think the name actually makes the band sound 'heavier' than they actually are.. I'm not sure why, I've just always thought that!

Much like what Roger used to say about 'Queen'. It was a short simple name that a lot of people would recognize in different countries.

I would love to find out why too! Although I think it was probably just a word someone came up that they thought would suit the band, so decided to name the group that.
